


A TRIBUTE TO MARIE
Our founder was born in a culture of entertainment and excitement. "We were always celebrating something" she said with laughter. Her mother, Marie, had a knack for organizing grand, chic and elegant parties where guests always had a fantastic time. With much admiration, Aurelia decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and create unforgettable experiences for others. However, she never planned to do it for a living.
In 2008, Aurelia discovered her passion for event management while working for Sodexo USA. She was responsible for planning and executing weekly conferences nationwide, despite having studied Marketing and Finance as an undergrad.
Over the years, Aurelia became the go-to planner for her community and turned her hobby into a lifetime career. That's how AFK Events & Designs was born. She went on to work as an event manager for Guitar Center, further honing her skills.
Today, based in Silver Spring, Maryland, AFK Events is a thriving business that has been serving the greater DC metropolitan area since 2021. Aurelia and her team specialize in corporate and social events, and they are passionate about creating the perfect ambiance for their clients' guests.
